A Taste of Colorado

I will tell you that Colorado today is completely different from the times of Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. Since the millennium the state's population has increased by over 750,000. Once known for our wide open spaces, these are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, but I guess we only have ourselves to blame for this. Colorado has become a very attractive place to be. Louisville, Colorado was labeled the number one place to live in Money Magazine's top 100 list for 2011. Aside from Louisville, four other Colorado towns were listed. Fairly impressive, huh? I suppose if we would stop gaining recognition for these kinds of things we wouldn't have so many people flooding in from everywhere. But who wouldn't love looking outside to a beautiful rocky mountain background every single morning? Not only are our towns earning acknowledgement for the quality lifestyle they offer their citizens, but Colorado is home to quite a few highly respectable businesses. One industry that we particularly care a lot about here at Baskets By Rita is the gourmet food industry. Not only is Colorado known for big restaurants including Old Chicago, Chipotle, Noodles & Company, Quizno's, and Good Times, but our state is also home to various well known food brands as well. At Baskets By Rita we carry products from local companies such as Bhakti Chai, Bobo's Oat Bars, Celestial Seasonings, Chocolove, and Boulder Natural Foods, each of which are situated in Boulder, Colorado. There has to be something about Boulder that inspires people to develop healthy, irresistible foods. If you aren't familiar with all of these brands, you could be acquainted with other Colorado names for instance Hammond's Candies, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Larabar, and Too Haute Cowgirls. Perhaps I'm a little bit of a foodie, but if the mountains don't draw visitors in, I would imagine that businesses like these would entice people to relocate to Colorado. Oh, and did I include that we have about 120 breweries in our state? Colorado has been described as the Napa Valley of the beer world. What more can I say? This state is amazing! If I've managed to wet your appetite and you are now wanting Colorado made food and beer why not order a Beer Gift from us and indulge yourself.
